The Noble Train Heirloom Candle

Sale price$56.00

In November of 1775, a Boston bookseller in his mid-twenties proposed hauling sixty tons of captured cannon three hundred miles from Fort Ticonderoga to the army outside Boston — across frozen rivers, over the Berkshires, in the dead of winter, on forty-two sleds. Henry Knox wrote to General Washington that he hoped to deliver him “a noble train of artillery.” He thought it would take two weeks. It took seventy days. In March of 1776, those guns went up on Dorchester Heights in a single night, and the British sailed out of Boston Harbor.

Every mile of that route smelled like this. Cold cypress and cut cedar, fir and wet moss under snow, and a bright thread of lemon peel in air too cold to hold anything softer.

Our largest candle, in an heirloom-quality hand-painted blue and white porcelain bowl. The 18 oz Noble Train burns for 90+ hours and fills even large rooms with the clarity of a winter forest at first light. Where Evergreen asks you to settle in, The Noble Train asks you to keep going — refreshing rather than cozy, awake rather than calm.

The vessel becomes a treasured piece long after the candle has burned. Use it as a decorative bowl, a planter, or a keepsake container.

Sixty tons. Three hundred miles. One winter.

Fragrance Notes: Cypress, lemon peel, evergreen, cedar, fir, amber, moss
